Position Summary:
The Institutional Giving Officer (IGO) plays a vital role in advancing the missions of Homeboy Electronics Recycling and Homeboy Threads by securing and managing institutional funding. This position focuses on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with foundations, corporations, and government entities to grow revenue from grants and sponsorships. Reporting to the CEO of Homeboy Electronics Recycling and the Director of Grants for Homeboy Industries, the IGO will collaborate across departments, including program teams and senior leadership, to develop compelling funding proposals and ensure grant compliance.

$75,000-$85,000
Salary to be negotiated depending on qualifications and depth of experience. This is a full-time exempt position offering a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life and retirement account. - Manage a portfolio of institutional funders, focusing on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to secure grants and sponsorships.
- Research and identify new institutional funding opportunities that align with the missions of Homeboy Electronics Recycling and Homeboy Threads.
- Develop and write compelling grant proposals, reports, and sponsorship requests.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of funder interactions, proposal submissions, and grant outcomes in the donor database.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements, tracking deliverables and impact metrics in coordination with program teams.
- Cultivate relationships with foundation and corporate representatives through regular communication, site visits, and engagement opportunities.
- Work with leadership and program staff to align funding strategies with organizational priorities and initiatives.
- Assist in planning donor engagement activities and events related to institutional funders.

- Stay informed about trends and best practices in institutional giving, particularly in the environmental sustainability and social enterprise sectors.
- Represent Homeboy Electronics Recycling and Homeboy Threads at industry events, networking opportunities, and funder meetings.
- Collaborate with the Development and Communications teams to showcase funder impact through storytelling and reporting.
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum of three years of experience in institutional fundraising, grant writing, or related fields.
- Demonstrated success in securing and managing grants from foundations and corporations
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to engage with funders and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor database systems (experience with Raiser's Edge preferred).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and grant compliance requirements.
- High level of initiative, organization, and attention to detail.
